Middle School Academics

At Achievers Early College Prep, our Middle School program provides students in grades 6–8 with a rigorous, standards-aligned foundation in English language arts, mathematics, science, social studies, and STEAM. Students engage in hands-on learning, problem-solving, collaboration, and real-world applications that prepare them for the academic demands of high school.

Our instructional program uses assessment data, student work, and daily checks for understanding to identify individual strengths and learning needs. Students receive targeted intervention in English language arts and mathematics, along with differentiated support for multilingual learners and students with disabilities.

Culturally responsive teaching is an important part of the Achievers experience. Teachers create opportunities for students to connect learning to their identities, cultures, backgrounds, and lived experiences. Through challenging coursework, strong relationships, and a supportive culture of belonging, we help students build confidence, independence, and strong academic habits.

High School Academics

The Achievers Early College Prep High School program prepares students in grades 9–12 for success in college, career, and life. Students participate in a rigorous college-preparatory program while strengthening their critical-thinking, communication, problem-solving, and leadership skills across all content areas.

Through dual enrollment and partnerships with colleges and universities, eligible students can complete college-level courses and earn college credits while still in high school. These opportunities introduce students to college-level expectations, help reduce the time and cost of earning a degree, and support a successful transition to postsecondary education.

Students can also connect their academic learning to future careers through our CTE pathways in Health Sciences, Graphic Design, Audio Engineering, and Information Technology/Cybersecurity. These programs provide hands-on learning, exposure to industry practices, and opportunities to earn recognized credentials. Teachers use assessment data, student work, intervention, and targeted support to ensure students remain on track for graduation and are prepared for college, career training, or direct entry into the workforce.

Middle schools and high schools need to innovate significantly to educate our kids for tomorrow’s industries.

In what's being hailed as the next Opportunity Gap, African-Americans and Latinos are trailing behind their White and Asian counterparts taking part in the science, technology and engineering education and careers. The U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics projects that, during the period 2010–2020, employment in S&E occupations will grow by 18.7%, compared to 14.3% for all occupations. The National Science Foundation projects that individuals employed in S&E occupations earn considerably more than the median earnings for all occupations. Median earnings for S&E occupations were $74,380 in 2009 and $78,270 in 2012. Median earnings for all occupations were $33,190 in 2009 and $34,750 in 2012. Why STEAM professions matter

Bottom-line: A STEAM career is a sure way to secure your economic future. If low-income African-American and Latino students do not get early exposure to STEAM sciences and careers, and have the chance to build their skills in these areas, these groups risk being shut out of the most promising gateway into the middle class and economic opportunity for years to come.
